Sorry for being away for almost a whole month! Haha I have been enjoying life, going on non-stop holiday spree for the past 2 weeks, then in return getting sick for 1 week and haven't fully recovered yet :(
But yeah, I NEED to blog about this Krabi trip of mine (before I forget all those minor details) because, some day next time, I would love to read back on my blog posts and remember all the awesome times we had :)
Beware, many pictures ahead because I just cant decide which is more beautiful!!!
So here goes, ~
Krabi, it was a totally random trip. One day, I was just randomly browsing through air asia for cheap air flights and I spotted Krabi return flights for only rm169/pax. Cheap or what you tell me??! Then I had a discussion with Hou and the next day, we booked our tickets. :) Worse case scenario would be to burn off the tickets but we both didn't mind because it was only rm169!
Thank god we didnt have to burn off the tickets :P Hehe so in a span of about 3 weeks, I planned the whole entire trip :) Everyday researching and googling about everything Krabi. From food to hotel to local tours to massage, everything.
Hou calls me 'Krabi's Ambassador' already since I practically know everything about Krabi now hahaha :D I know I'm that kiasu hehehe.
2 weeks after buying our air tickets, we finally booked our hotel. A 4 star hotel, situated in Ao Nang, Ananta Burin. We managed to grab a good deal too, it was rm100 a night (damn cheap for a 4 star hotel right??!), and we stayed for 3 nights. Yeap seems like luck was on our side :P
So in total, we spend about rm330 per person for flights and hotel including all taxes and service charge. CHEAP OR NOT? CHEAPEST OVERSEA HOLIDAY OF MY LIFE!! I think I spent more when I was in Penang the last time. Lol.
It was a 3days 3 nights trip, because on the 4th day, our flight was at 8am. And because the later flight that day would cost us rm200 difference each, we figured it was not worth the money.
Day 1,
Our flight was in the afternoon, 1.35pm. So we had plenty of time in the morning to do last minute packings, had breakfast with his parents before they sent us off to the airport. First time flying from the new airport, KLIA2, so we figured better reach there earlier incase we get lost or whatever.
Turns out we were wayyyy too early and had to wait for like 2 hours before being able to board the plane. Haha lesson learnt, dont be so kiasu next time :P
*We were bored. So pictures before we embarked on our trip together :P*
p/s: we totally made the lady sitting beside us felt like a lamp post. haha sorry poor stranger.
After those shots, as usual, I feel asleep like a dead pig. Cant blame me, blame my motion sickness pills that I took. Until today, I still cant sit any plane or ferry without taking my pills. Sigh.
I love going on flights with darling because I know I will not need to worry about anything, like my arrival card, my luggage. I can just sleep off and wake up with my arrival card already filled in nicely for me, tucked in nicely in my passport. :) Who could even pamper me more than him?!
Touched down at Krabi International Airport and when we were finally out, I headed straight to the bus counter to purchase our bus tickets to Ao Nang town. It cost us 150baht each and the best thing was, the bus would drop us off right at our hotel doorstep :) See, told you I did my research. If we were to sit a taxi, it would cost us about 600baht. Double the price!!
Got our bus tickets and hop on the bus.
*He said I take selfie BOJIO him*
*So heres one of us, our first picture in Krabi :)*
The bus was air conditioned, but it was so HOT AND STUFFY!! I swear I was sweating sitting in there. Journey to Ao Nang town from the airport took about 30 minutes, plus after dropping off a few people, we finally reached our hotel an hour later.
*Lobby of our hotel which is infested with LOTS of mosquitoes!!*

*Having our welcome drink. It was good, especially when the weather was so so so hot!!*
*My OOTD. First romper that I purchased and I'm loving it!*
Walked out to the streets nearby our hotel as we saw lots of stalls selling food when we were passing by to get to our hotel earlier.
*This is the main street just before the junction to our hotel. And we walked this street every single day*
*And first stop, for the awesome Thai Pancakes!!*
And this was the stall that everyone was talking about on blogs so I had to try it!!
*Remember this name, Pancake Rotee Yaminlah!! It has the best pancakes ever!!!*
Ordered 2 to share
*Banana + Chocolate*
*Banana + Cheese*
Oh god, it was FREAKING AWESOME!!!! Its just like our normal roti canai here, just alot thinner and crispier and with lots of different fillings that you can choose from.
One bite and I was addicted!! We went back to this stall like another 5 times until the girl who took our orders could remember us already hahahahha.
*The many food stalls at the side of the road. Our favorite place to have meals :P*
Too bad they close at 9pm, which is way too early for people who wants to have supper!!
*Walked further down and ordered a plate of Pad Thai to share*
My first Pad Thai and I was hooked! WTF taste damn goood!! I love thai food la ok!!
*Coconut Shake cause we desperately needed something cooling!!*
Went street shopping after that. I wanted a fedora so badly and also a new bikini plus our plans for today was to look around for local tours to Phi Phi Island, Emerald Pool and Hot Springs for the following days.
After walking for like 30 minutes, I finally bought my fedora! And the SSness in me begins :P
*At Ao Nang beach*
Went searching around for local tours and my budget was rm150 for the Phi Phi tour, and Emerald Pool Hot Spring tour. I did my research and knew that the price would be around rm130-150 during the low season.
The first we found, it was rm190. Crazy and so we walked off and as we walked nearer to town, the price got cheaper and cheaper. After asking about 7 or 8 different tour agents, we finally decided to take one which cost rm160 per person, which was rm10 out from budget, but it was already getting late so we didn't want to risk not having any tours just to save the 20bucks.
So my advice is, do not rush to sign up for tours until you are satisfied with the price.
After signing up for the tour, we walked back to the hotel to get our room keys.
*I was super satisfied with the room. Definitely worth more than what we paid*
Spacious and clean :D
*Folded towels awww so pretty!*
*Our little balcony*
Then we had to rush out to Ao Nang beach again to catch the sunset.
*But SS first. The bf giving me the death stare because I told him to move out of my picture but obviously the lift was too small hahahahhhaa*
*The cloudy sunset we got :(*
*Wahahah using our mini tripod, so that explains the angle :P*
*Love this shot taken by Hou* :)
After we were done with sunset, we walked further into town and finally reached the famous Ao Nang Mcd with the Ronald Mcdonald statue.
*Sawadeekappppp. Only in Thailand*
So obviously a picture is a musttttt :D
Wanted to buy one of their pork burgers just because Malaysia doesn't have it but it was so damn expensive. Like rm20 ++ .So not worth the price so we decided to skip it and look for more street food :D
And for dinner, we had lots of street food AGAIN!! Damn cheap plus damn awesome, except for some :(
*Grilled corn and Chicken skewer*
The corn was just normal, not salty and buttery enough for my liking but the chicken skewer was the bomb!!So flavorful and tender!!
*The BEST BBQ CHICKEN EVER!!!*
Omg looking at this picture now is making me crave for it again!! Its at one of the food stalls near our hotel that I mentioned earlier above.
*Som Tam- Green Papaya Salad*
It was my first try and I dislike it. I just wanted to try it since its a local food. Bleh I HATE anything which has papaya in it. No more Som Tam for me in the future!!
*And pineapple fried rice. Felt that it was lacking of taste. It was just bland. Didn't like it too.*
That was our dinner for two. And it cost us not more than rm20. Money well spent, better than having just ONE pork burger right. :D
Walked back to our hotel with our tummies feeling happy. Bath and just chill in the room till we got bored. Then I suggested going out for a walk, and maybe supper. Hehe fat me I know.
We walked down the street from our hotel and discovered a huge 7-11 shop. And from my research, people always mentioned how awesome Thailand's 7-11 are, with the huge varieties of instant cup noodles, LAYS chips and Meiji milk drinks. So I had to check it out. The shop was like 3 minutes walk from our hotel only. Damn lucky us :P
And the damage from 7-11 ~
*Tadahhhhhh*
1) FREAKING AWESOME smoked salmon flavored LAYS chips. Omg seriously I cant explain how it tasted like. It just feels like having smoked salmon in your mouth with every bite. So so goood!!
2) And 4 different instant cup noodles, mostly pork flavor duh :P
3) One Meiji chocolate milk drink, cause the others sounded weird such as banana milk? Ewwww. Also bought a cup of Thai Iced Tea and was hooked ever since. Had been buying it everyday while we were there.
4) And we also discovered another awesome thing. The ready cooked and packed meal. They will reheat it for us in the microwave oven and it will be ready for consumption. We chose spicy pork with basil and it was DAMN GOOD. So good that we bought more the next day :P
Nooooo why 7-11 here not so awesome. I want to live in Thailand nowwwww. This is unfairrrr :(
Had our instant noodles and spicy pork for supper then we went to sleep as it will be a long long day for us tomorrow.
Day 2,
Had to be up by 7.30 am to get ready because we will be having our Phi Phi Island tour today. The tour agency had already arranged someone to pick us up from our hotel at 8.45am.
*Breakfast time!*
We didn't take the hotel's buffet breakfast cause we kiam, want to save money haha
*Our private breakfast at our private balcony :)*
*Mandatory lift picture because the mirror is just too big to ignore XD*
*Arrived at this place and gathered here for quite some time before heading out to sea :D*
In love with my fedora la. XD Such an awesome accessory for the beachhh :D
*Hehe :D*
Finally it was time to head out. Whee even though I always get seasick somehow during the journey, it will not stop me from visiting my paradise. How I wish I can overcome my seasickness :(
*The view along the way. It was just breathtaking :)*
*Passed by Chicken Island, named because of its funny rock shape head that looks like a chicken.*
After 45minutes of speedboat ride, we finally arrived at our first destination, BAMBOO ISLAND.
LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. OHMYGOD
This is what paradise means in my book :)
Wonderful white beach, its been too long.
*Just can't wait to get into the blue, sparkling ocean!!!*
*One with the man behind the camera hehe :P*
*My favorite picture!!*
But I have no idea why the color turned out so weird here. Somehow blogger always screws up my pictures ughhhhhhh
*ok he gets one picture hahahahahaha*
*Done swimming and more SS moments hahahaha*
Next stop, LOHSAMAH BAY and HIN KLANG for open sea snorkeling.
The water was soooo sooooo clear that you could practically see the fishes from the boat.
There were thousands and thousands of fishes, damn alot!! I've never seen SOOOO many fishes in my life. But the disappointing thing was, it was the same type of fish. No varieties plus the corals were all dead as expected.
The smart us, already bought bread the night before so that we could feed the fishes. Hehe damn prepared right we both :P Experienced snorkelers yo! :P
I was kinda afraid of the fishes cause there were really too many of them. And they definitely are not scared of humans!! Everytime I put my head into the water, they just came straight at me that I was so scared they would bite my face ok!!.
They bit me once in a while, so I started screaming at random everytime a fish bit me hahahha. Then Hou as usual started playing weird stuffs with the fishes. He is damn sadist k. There was twice, he threw a bread, and when the fishes came in thousands to feed on that small bread, he placed his hands under them and scoop them all up and throw them in the air. WTF WEI!! Ok la I guess not really throw, but up in the air that they will have to wiggle and dive back down LOL.
Next, sight seeing at VIKING CAVE and PILEY BAY.
Too beautiful that words cant describe.
*The water was this clear okay!!!!!!!*
I was so so so excited that I practically stood at the edge of the speedboat while it was still moving, while holding on to a rail just to capture awesome shots!!! Hehee I just loveee this place. How I wished I could just jump into the water for a swim. Unfortunately, its only for sightseeing so we did not get to go down :(
Next stop was the famous MAYA BAY ( the island that got famous because it was a scene from the film 'The Beach').
I just couldn't stop staring at the view right in front of me. It's seriously like the pictures you see online. So stunning. No words to describe. All we did was, found a shady spot, sat there and just stare at the view, enjoying the sea breeze. Life felt like it was perfect at that time :)
*Selfie selfie :D*
Eyes cannot open because it was sooooo sunny! Thank god it didn't rain on us on that day!!!! :D
And not to forget, my jumpshots!! Every single time I head to the beach, a jumpshot is a must for me muahahahaha .
Color weird again, i look so orange here wtf
After all the jumping jumping, I was already starving to death. Was so so sooo hungry. Thank god the next in our itinerary was lunch!!
Yippie and lunch buffet was included in our package tour. Awesome!!
Went back up the speedboat and headed over to Phi Phi Don to have lunch and just chill by the beach.
*LUNCH LIKE FINALLY!!!!*
Food was just okay, eatable I guess, but not delicious lol.
*Bought ice creams that cost us rm14 for 2! Crazy expensive but we couldn't resist it because the weather was toooo hot!!!*
I wasn't feeling too well by then so I popped another motion sickness pill and started to get really really drowsy that all I wanted to do was sleeeep =/
*Walked to a quiet beach and just sat there enjoying the view*
*Emo picture of me*
Nah I was just too sleepy to open my eyes and smile for the camera so I told darling to take my back while I close my eyes and sleep haahhahaha. That was how drowsy I felt!!
*This was how I looked like 10 minutes later. Ugly picture of me trying to sleep on a table because I couldnt keep my eyes open*
Fuck the pills so drowsyyyyyyy :(
Next stop after that was MONKEY BEACH.
But by that time, I was already super drowsy and asleep on the boat. The tour guide told us to come up in front if we wanted to feed monkeys but me obviously was fast asleep so I just couldn't be bothered to move from my spot. LOL sleep was more important at that time, thus no pictures :P
That was the last stop of our Phi Phi Island tour and after that, it was a 45 minutes speedboat ride back and I slept like a dead pig, even with the wind slapping on my face and occasional water splashing on me. Lol :P
Reached back Ao Nang beach and we were dropped off at our hotel and because I was still so so sleepy, but at the same time, wet and dirty from all the beach activities earlier, I went back to the room and slept on the hard wooden side of our bed. Not on the bed k, I didn't want to dirty the bed.
Woke up after awhile then bathed and our next activity was MASSAGE!!!!!
I already knew which massage centre I wanted to go to after doing so much research online and everyone raving about this particular place.
*Atta.Rak, Lets sea: Lets relax*
This place is just opposite Mcd Ao Nang and its located downstairs. Quite easy to spot with their huge signage.
It is one of those nicer looking 'spa' places. Unlike some others which looked quite dodgy, but obviously you pay for what you get. This place is definitely more expensive than the others but to me, I find it worth the price!!
*The bf went down and look at the price list first and you can see the shock look on his face when he saw the price. But nonetheless we carried on with it. Haha :P*
Hou: WAH YOU SEE THE PRICE!!!
HAHA SO CUTE.
I decided to take the back and shoulder massage (cause I always have problems with shoulder aches!) which cost 450 baht, while darling took the traditional Thai full body massage for 300 baht.
First, we were served with some cold tea and hot towel. Such good service!! This is the difference from the other cheaper ones outside lo
Then had our legs soaked in warm water. Ahhhh awesome after so much of snorkeling and walking
And then had our feet scrubbed with salt, pat dry and slippers given to us before entering the massage room
The massage was ONE WORD : AWESOME.
I purposely arranged for our massage to be on the day that we went for the Phi Phi Tour because I knew we would be exhausted by the end of the day and a massage will be such a relief for our tired bodies. Haha and no doubt this place DID NOT FAIL US.
But right, they mixed up our massage. I asked for the back and shoulder but was given the full body traditional massage wherelse Hou was given the massage I asked for. No regrets anyway because it was SO GOOD AND RELAXING.
The minute we walked out of that place, I said 'can we come here again tomorrow pls pls pls ? :D'
So people, if what you want is something relaxing, come to this place. However if you want those painful massages that can really cure your 'problematic parts' I dont think this is the place for you. :P
After we were done, it was already 9pm, and we haven't had dinner!! And I mentioned earlier that the food stalls near our hotel closes at 9pm so too bad for us :(
But but lucky us, our favorite pancake shop Yaminlah was still open!! So we bought a mango pancake and wtf that was the BEST pancake of my life!!!! At first it sounded weird but we decided to try it anyway and totally was the BEST!! Didn't take any pictures cause we were too hungry!!
Haha so if you remember to go to this stall, please order the mango pancake and you wont regret it!!
Went walking around to find any other stalls that was still open to have dinner and we stumbled upon one :)
However most of their food was already sold out so we ordered just a plate of Pad Thai again and also Mango Sticky Rice to share.
Both were yummy!! :D
Just eat mango wherever you find it in Thailand because most probably it will be damn sweet and good!
Called it a day after that and off we went to bed.
Day 3,
Had to be up early again because we were having our half day Emerald Pool and Hot Springs tour today and they were supposed to pick us up at 8.30am. Sigh holidays are always so tiring :(
The night before,
Hou: Tomorrow I wake up earlier and tapao breakfast for you ok?
Mun: Your head la, as if you can wake up earlier. I don't believe.
Hou: Wait and see lo tomorrow.
And darling really set his alarm 15 minutes before mine (cause I heard it going off), and he woke up, went out and came back with breakfast for us.
Not only that!! He came back to the room, boiled some water and made coffee for me summore, the way I like it (2 sugar packets and 2 creamer).
Awwwww I was damn damn damn touched lo k!! This guy here, his hobby is to sleep, and its seriously a torture for him to get up every morning, but he would do this all for me. :)
And when he was done, I just had crawl out from bed, wash up and breakfast was all ready for me. Princess treatment I get hehe :P
*Korean style chicken with fried rice and my coffee for breakfast*
The chicken was sooo soooo goood!! LOL
*And his instant noodles with tea*
*All geared up for our half day tour. The yellow bag is our waterproof bag. Best investment ever*
A van came to pick us and it was filled with Malaysians and Singaporeans tourists, except for one Korean couple. P/s: the korean guy damn lengzhai lo I keep staring at him Hahaha.
It was about an hour plus journey and we arrived at our first destination.
First stop, Hot Springs
It was a 200m walk to finally reach the hotsprings and when I saw it, I was kind of disappointed because it was damn damn small! It looked much bigger in pictures. Haha illusion. And because we were quite late, there were already lots of people in the hot springs so yeah it was getting crowded. But we didn't care and went in anyway.
Ahhh nice feeling, warm and just therapeutic la since I had all those itchy bites on my body. Soaked in there for like 20 minutes then I started feeling very hot and sweaty and uncomfortable so we left.
*Went to the hot stream with less people and rendam our legs in*
Went back up the van and our next destination was the cooling Emerald Pool, just what I needed after getting all sweaty in the hot springs.
*See the water so so so clear!!!! I was sooo amazed by it!!*
Haha this time, it was a 800m walk to the Emerald Pool from the entrance. Damn far lo my god. Keep walking and walking and complaining because it was so far.
And finally we reached :D
*Blue and clear natural water!*
The floor surrounding the pool is really really REALLY slippery though. I almost fell like a dozen times. Even going into the pool is a problem, cause its really hard to enter the pool without slipping first lol. But with patience and being really careful, find the correct spot and slowly enter the water. If all fails, just fall and slide in la XD
The pool was huge! :D And cold. And and one more thing, its deep!! Lol wasn't expecting that, until I went in and I had to tiptoe to touch the ground.
Done with swimming and soaking and headed back out to wait for our van. Was super exhausted by then so I slept throughout the journey back.
We were dropped back at our hotel and we went out again for lunch at our favorite stalls :D Muahahahaha
Street food all the way during our stay there :P Damn cheap k so we could eat a bomb without feeling poor :P
This is their authentic Thai dessert. No idea what it was, but in between that bun shaped thing is like coconut santan, then pour abit of sugar inside, close up the bun and just put the whole thing in your mouth. Omg awesomeeee :DD
As usual, our most loved bbq chicken hehe
Sausage and chicken balls I think? Totally sucky. Hate it. We didn't even finish half of it lol.
More Pad Thai YUMMMMSSSS ;D
*Green curry!!! Damn gooood tooo!!!!*
And coconut to quench our thirst while having lunch
Headed back to our hotel to have some rest and just lazed around. We had plans to have dinner at a hilltop restaurant to watch the sunset later in the evening.
And also I knew the restaurant provides free transport to their place which was high up the hill, so darling told the receptionist to call them up and book for them to pick us up in time to watch the sunset. And he specifically asked the restaurant to reserve a nice table for us, with a sunset view hehe :P
All dolled up for our little dinner date :)
And we reached! :D
Awesome view!
Nah nah see so beautiful right!! Everyone said this is the perfect place to watch sunset and I was really excited to capture awesome pictures of the sunset but urghh again, there was no sunset. Only cloudy skies sigh. I'm beginning to think I have no luck with sunset. Everywhere I go, I always dont get to see sunsets haihhh,
Super love the environment! They have live band summore!!
Nah thats not our table. Just for pictures purpose :P
*OOTN*
My dinner date :)
Went back to our table and started ordering our food. Hehe all their local Thai food. I seriously love Thai food la. Need to ask Hou to bring me for more authentic Thai food already :P
*Fried eggs with mince pork*
*Stir fry chicken with cashew nuts*
Tom Yam Goong. Omg super super spicy!! But it was damn goood! Haha only managed to finish like 1/4 of the bowl. So wasted :(
And ordered a cocktail to share. 'The Mango's Teen'. I forgot what was inside but it was damn goood too!!

We totally splurge on dinner since it was our last night there. The bill came up to almost 1000 baht, which is rm100. But its okay right, cause that was our first expensive meal in Krabi.
Thanks for the awesome dinner dearie :)
Haha and I just love this picture that Hou took while I was walking to the toilet :P
After dinner, we were so so full so we decided to walk the streets of Ao Nang to buy last minute souvenirs for friends and to use up the remaining of our money. We had free transport back down again but this time we told the driver to drop us at McD Ao Nang instead of our hotel, so we could slowly walk back all the way and shop at the same time.
While walking half way, unlucky us, it started raining!! Like super heavy!! And we didn't have any umbrella. So we had to shelter in the shops and 'pretended' to look at stuffs in the shops we were sheltering in. Half walk in rain half shelter and the rain finally stopped 30minutes later. Phew! If not, it would be impossible to walk back to our hotel which was like 1km away?!
Before going back to the hotel, we tapao supper back to the room. HAHA I know we both can eat alot right!!!!!
What to do, still got so much money and it was our last day already. So spend all the money la :P
Mango sticky rice, Mango pancake and Thai Iced Tea
Muahahahha it was a gooood night.
Just eating then packing up all our stuffs as our flight the next morning is at 8am and we had to reach the airport super early, which means waking up even earlier sigh.
Hou had already arranged for a car to send us to the airport for 500 baht. Ok la I guess the price for a whole Toyota Camry just for us.
Woke up at 5am the next morning and as usual Hou went out to tapao some food for our breakfast, to be eaten in the airport. Checked out and the car was already waiting for us to send us to the airport.
That was the end of our Krabi trip.
Probably one of my BEST trips ever. Most of our time was spent eating hahaha. I seriously need more of these kind of holidays la :P
Haha will be writing another post on PD some other time :)
I am sure to
be going back to Krabi in the future! Because there's still so many
other things that I've not done! Like the other Hong Island tour!! And also because I just love their food!!! :P Hhehe
Till next time,
-mun-
