Sorry for the lack of updates!! I've been busy enjoying my remaining time left before I start work. I keep reminding myself that this will be the LAST time I get to enjoy, sleep, eat, play and think of nothing stressful until I get my most dreaded letter for me to start work. Once I start work, I will need to take leave like any normal working people if I wanna go for short trips/holidays. And also non stop working till the day I die :( So yeah this is my 'excuse' so I dont feel guilty for spending so much money hahahaha. I'm gonna be working soon anyways, so use the money 1st la :P
Anyway, this post will be on our valentines and anniversary celebration.
This was the first time in 3 years that we finally could celebrate valentines together. Because during the first year, I was in Melbourne. On our 2nd year, I was in JB working. And so finally this year, both of us were in KL and not anywhere else.
So how did we celebrate it..?
There was absolutely no celebration on the real day itself. All we did was have dinner at my place together with my family as it was also Chap Goh Mei. It was just a simple steamboat dinner, which was awesomely good, free (haha noneed to spend money la, all on my parents expenses), and without needing to jam with other couples outside.
But on the 13th of Feb, 11.30pm at night, he prepared this mini surprise for me :)
He called me and started asking me weird questions like
'where are you now? where in your house are you? what are you doing? when you look our your bedroom window, do you see
the balcony or back lane?'
I knew he was up to something because it was so obvious la!! So I just pretended and answered all his questions. Then he played a song and said 'Ni ke yi pei wo ting zhe shou ge ma (will you listen to this song with me?)' and I said okayyyyy. and he started singing. Something he would never do. Lets just say he is not very talented in singing. So his singing was more like him reading the lyrics out LOL. I burst out into laughter. I laughed sooooo badly HAHA!
And when the song was done, he said 'come out for awhile. I'm outside your house now.'
He gave me a helium filled heart-shaped balloon with Happy Valentines Day written on it, a bar of chocolate and a handwritten note. It was just so sweet and inexpensive and thoughtful :) I was grinning from ear to ear.
Hehe who says you need to spend a lot of money to make your gf happy on valentines. I told him not to get me roses this year because the price is super unreasonable, I rather he saved the money and get me roses some other time, so he came up with the balloon idea lol.
I'm contented already with the mini surprise he gave me. He is always full of surprises!! I wonder when he will run out of ideas lol.
That was my mini surprise on the 13th of Feb. Btw the balcony question was because he wanted to fly the helium balloon up to my room lol but it failed.
But that wasn't the end. Haha we already agreed to celebrate V day by ourselves a week later, together with our anniversary.
The boyfriend came up with the idea of booking a residence suite in KL and having our own romantic dinner in our suite. Who says we need to eat expensive food in expensive restaurant?! We can do it ourselves! Haha
He booked the suite, which was walking distance to Bukit Bintang. The location was sooo strategic. We were right beside Lot 10 and just across the road is Sg Wang.
The day started with him bringing me out for brunch at Coffee Stain, Publika.
*My usual mocha. Cher was right, this was good!!*
*I am a freaking coffee addict!! Super love my coffees!*
*My brunch!*
*It was up to my expectations too!! I was a happy girl with a happy tummy :D*
*Hou ordered their set lunch carbonara*
*Which comes with mushroom soup*
*This was surprisingly good too!*
Definitely coming back for more. Coffee Stain made it to my list of 'food that I will remember'. Haha
After our tummies were full, we headed down to BENS GROCER for grocery shopping as I would be cooking our dinner later. I was in charged of getting all the items I needed, while my darling pushed the trolley and paid the bill. Haha he said 'just buy whatever you want, don't worry about saving money for me.'
*Our trolley. Guess whats for dinner? :P*
*My helper :P*
After we were done with getting the groceries, we headed over to our residence suite in KL.
Checked in and the first thing I asked was, 'Is the oven working?'. And they had the nerves to say NO.
wtf I almost exploded.! Hou called up BEFORE he made the payment to make sure that the oven was working and they ASSURED him that yes the oven in our suite is working plus he specifically asked for a nice view and they promised him that. And when we reached there, they thought we were talking about the microwave oven, not the OVEN.
I was so pissed off because the only reason we chose this residence over many other hotels which are cheaper and nicer is because this is the only residence in KL WITH A WORKING OVEN!! So imagine when they told us the oven wasnt working. URGHHHH *RAGE FACE* I would have asked them to refund our money then!!
The boyfriend was even more pissed off that he went back to the reception and made a big fuss and they said 'ok we will check out which unit has a working oven'. And so we sat there and waited and waited and they came back telling us that they fixed our oven and its working. So ok everything settled.
We went back to our suite, which was a really nice suite btw. Mind you, it wasn't cheap, so I was expecting something and it did not disappoint :)
*The entrance of our one bedroom suite*
*Our mini living room with a plasma tv*
*Dining area and kitchen*
*Kitchen, which also has a washing machine+ dryer!*
*Our bedroom*

*And a 2nd plasma tv in our room*
*With attached bathroom*
It was just a small deluxe one bedroom suite but with nice interior designing. I immediately fell in love with this place, and so I promised my future house will be something like this!! :)
*And this is how it looks like at night*
*Mirrors everywhere in our bedroom, so how to not camwhore :P*
First thing we did after settling down was to marinate the lamb. Yeap lamb was our main dish for the night. Hehe I insisted that I want to be the one cooking the entire dinner meal for him tonight so I didnt allow him to help, but instead told him to sit and watch.
*The lamb, absorbing all the marinating ingredients. Omg staring at this is making me hungry already!*
*Cant help it, there was a mirror right beside the dining area :P*
After the marination was done, I was so exhausted and so we ended up watching tv in bed and then later napping for an hour.
Woke up and started exploring the place. We went up to the highest floor to check out the swimming pool and the view was just awesome!!
*KL view from the top :)*
By the time we were back at our suite, it was already 8pm and so I wanted to start preparing dinner. I was heating up the oven when suddenly, the whole suite blackout. Uh huh wasn't expecting this at all. And after trying multiple times, we concluded that it was the oven that was causing the blackout.
Wtf I was damnnnn angry because of the oven issue again! Hou called the receptionist and told her the problem and she changed us to another 2 bedroom unit .When I stepped into that unit, I wasn't impressed at all. It looked super old and the furniture was just meh T.T Our previous suite was wayyyy better.
Hou saw my disappointed look and immediately knew that I didnt like it. So he had a discussion with the receptionist and came back with news that we will be taking back our previous suite but using the oven in this unit. Haha so in conclusion, he got us 2 room cards, 2 units, with the same price we paid for that one unit :D And also he managed to negotiate for a later check out time, due to the delay and all the wait they put us through!!
It was their fault in the beginning for not making sure the oven was working!! So yeap we did ALL the cooking in this unit then bring the food back up to our suite for dinner. Best thing about cooking here is that we dont have to wash the dishes after!! Thats what housekeeping are for right :P
Everything else was perfect after that tiny oven glitch :) It was a good dinner, a good night, a good Valentines celebration :) Thanks dearie :)
*Table setting, done by the boyfriend*
*Dinner is served* All cooked by me!! :DD
Oven baked lamb and potatoes
*Roasted sesame sauce salad*
*My outfit for dinner :P*
Hehe must pretend we are in some romantic dinner place ma! :P
So romantic hor the table setting :P
*I surprised him with this gift.*
Something that I've been working on for quite some time. So glad he loved it!!
*A printed photobook designed from scratch by me!*
So proud of the outcome! Don't you all think its so pretty!
Hehe I think I have some hidden talent for designing as well :P
This front page took ages to be completed! Because I had to find the PERFECT pictures for all 6 boxes. And I chose blue as the main cover page cause I didn't want it to be too girly for him.
*And the back is just our names with the date, 27th Feb 2014, our anniversary date :)*
We ate our dinner really slowly, taking our own sweet time, chatting away. It was a good night. I will always and forever remember this night :) Thanks for the awesome memories and experience, darling :)
The next morning, I prepared breakfast for Hou as well. All his favorite stuffs in one dish. Bacon, ham, eggs, cheese. He was a very happy boy haha!
*Found the recipe online, also my first time making it and it was so awesome!!*
Told you I have some hidden talent!! :D
*Our table setting, done by Hou too!*
A cup of coffee and a glass of lychee apple juice :)
After breakfast, I was entitled to a 15minutes session of head massage!! Apparently this boyfriend has been secretly learning and practicing his massage technique so he could give it to me. Awwww super touched!! And it was goood! Next he said he would learn how to do shoulder massage because I've always complained about aching and sore shoulders! Can't wait to try it out :P
Checked out at 3pm and we headed over to Acme Bar & Coffee.
I wasn't expecting much of this place because I've heard and read about bad reviews and how the food here are overrated. But decided to check out this place anyway to enjoy the environment.
*Ordered my usual mocha*
*Cempedak cake- meh, not up to my expectations*
*Truffle fries- didn't like it too*
Yeap, true to what people said, food is overrated. Not going back there anymore.
So that concludes our mini trip to KL :p
Will be back again soon when I have something to blog about.
Cant wait for my first spa experience that Hou decided to pamper me with this weekend. Our first couple spa/massage!! Hehe
Till next time,
-mun-
Oh and happy 3rd anniversary to us :)
